I love Christmas. I love the shopping and the wrapping and the card addressing and the decorating. However, I do not love putting up the Christmas tree. I've never had a real Christmas tree in my entire life ( I know I can hear you gasping) but I'm fine with that. My favorite tree, as a kid, was this silver aluminum one we had. I loved the dumb thing. So, as an adult...I did move on to a fake green tree...you know the ones where they come in like three parts and the tree trunk sits in a thingy with three legs???? Well, I lost one of the legs so it has only two legs which makes it wobbly. Trying to put up a 5 foot wobbly tree by oneself is not pretty. It tipped over....it slammed into the window...then fell on top of me. I try to wire it to the wall...doesn't work. I try propping it up with a stick....it leaned to the right and the stick looked stupid. Then I tried putting a rock on the two legs....that didn't work either. I put the tree part in an urn to see if that would stabalize it. It didn't . I went out and bought a new tree stand. One size does not fit all. While attempting to put the tree into the new stand which didn't fit...the plastic broke. I took the tree apart and stuffed each seperate piece into a garbage bag and tomorrow it heads to the curb for trash pick up. Its been replaced by a foot tall silver aluminum tree that has never failed me. Pitiful yes but it won't fall on my head! Plus its shiny...it'll keep me entertained for hours!
