I got a wake up call this morning....both figuratively and literally....that a good friend of mine had died! No warning....nothing! Her name was Annette and she was one of my group of Elvis friends.....like a little gang...we tended to go everywhere together ...to various Elvis festivals through the years, parties, dinners etc. As one of the group commented " we are freakishly close" for people who don't live geographically close to each other . So, I find myself wondering what do we do when one of us will forever be missing. She was just 51...in fact, we celebrated her birthday just last weekend. We are so grateful we have those memories and pictures of such a happy time. She died of a massive heart attack! Its times like these when you think it could happen to any of us at any time. You wonder why and what the lesson is. You feel sad for all the adventures you're going to miss taking together. You feel sad for her family. You feel sad for yourself! So, maybe take some time this weekend to tell people you value them....you love them...you need them and you would miss them if they weren't in your life. I intend to do the same.
