This morning on the Jamie and Tara Impossible Question we asked what the number one tear jerker of all time was and the response was overwhelming!

It really made me realize what a big effect movies can have on people. I would think as an actor that that would be the highest compliment you could give them....that their movie or the role they played made a huge impact on someone's life.

Although I said on the air that My Dog Skip was the movie that made me cry the most, there have been others that have left a lasting impression.

For example, the movie Crash( not David Cronenberg's Crash) had a profound effect on the way I percieve people and literally changed and challenged the way I have thought for most of my life. I think that that is the true measure of a successful movie...when after the box office receipts are tallied, the rich movie moguls have purchased another house in the Hamptons, and the DVD rentals have died down...that it changed someone's perspective...that it made someone think twice...or maybe stopped someone from making a life altering mistake.

One woman on the phone today said that seeing Ghost stopped her from marrying someone two months before the wedding. She said the movie made her see that the guy she was marrying wasn't her great love so she called the wwhole thing off! She ended up meeting and marrying that guy...THE guy 6 months later and they've now been happily married for 10 years!

I didn't ask her if they re-enact the pottery scene from the movie...that would fall under the heading of too much information:)
