Good morning! It was a dark and stormy daaayyyy...it sounds creepier if you imagine that I'm saying that in an evil voice...let's try again...it was a daaaarrrrkkkk aaand stoooormyyy daaayyy...muwahahaha! Okay I'm done...thanks for indulging me:)
Picked up the new wheels yesterday and just got back from taking Jamie for a spin. To tell you the truth...I'm a little disappointed...Jamie didn't really show the proper amount of reverence and awe for new Betsy...I dont know what I was expecting but I bet if I had taken Wendy King or Robyn Gerson for a spin...they would have been uber excited...at least they would have know to pepper their reactions with a few wows and awesomes...all I got from Jamie was "hmmm...new car smell"....yup...downright poetic..
On another note...I love getting your feedback on my blogs but I cant help but notice that the one's I get the biggest response from are the ones about relationships...it seems we girls never tire of discussing...dissecting...and pondering love...relationships...and in particular...the mysterious species that we share this planet with...men:) I'm still getting comments on my blog from a few days ago regarding that He's just not that into you phenomenon...alot of you have sent some interesting feedback and have given me alot of food for thought. As it turns out, we women dont get off scott free in the department of manufactured excuses that cloud the truth..
One blog reader e-mailed me about someone close to her(whose identity will remain secret to protect the innocent) and how everyone they date always ends up using the "you're just too nice" excuse when they break up with him...I say "excuse"...because common ladies ...that's ridiculous...what you really mean to say is "I wish you were someone ELSE... that was too nice to me"...
It bothers me when I hear guy friends of mine say that someone said that to them..."you're too nice"...because let's be honest...women do tend to use that one more than men...it irritates me because by not being honest with them...by scrounging around for a reason that they dont want to date that person anymore... they are making them doubt and second guess all of the good things about themselves...like being too nice...too considerate...too thoughtful etc...when the real problem is that you just dont feel a connection with that person...what's wrong with just saying that...you know...the truth....it will set you free?
In my experience(which is admittedly limited)...noone has ever dropped dead when I have told them that and I have never perished upon hearing that news either...they've appreciated the honesty as have I...which is better than sending someone away feeling like they're deficient in some way for simply being who they are..
All I am saying is that there are a gazillion bazillion people on this planet...and we will likely only make a lifetime connection with a few of them...so it's no big deal if you have to look someone in the eye and tell them that there's a possibility that they aren't "the one"...it doesn't mean we're unlovable....defective...too nice...or a candidate for a freak side show at the circus...it means that they and we are free to continue the search for Mr or Mrs Ilovethatyou'retoonice:)
