Okay, back from a week's vacation, and while I'd like to say I'm feeling fresh and rested, the only refreshment was the snow down my boots as I tried to shovel out of what hit us hard over the weekend.  Where'd this dump of snow come from?  Many in the area are still without power as heavy trees branches snapped from the weight of all that wet snow and took a few hydro lines down in the process, my neighbourhood included.  I must admit, last night was terribly peaceful and we kind of enjoyed the quiet by candlelight - no tv, computer, or phone ringing.  That is until I had to get up for work early this morning and in the hydro-less dark stubbed my big toe on the corner of the kitchen island.  There were a few choice words that followed that can't be blogged about here at this time.  Now it's back home to snowblow the driveaway...again.  Is this an omen of what winter 08/09 will like?  I only have nine more toes left.  I'm not going to make it.
