Halloween '08

I took daughter Sophie out Friday night for her first Halloween of trick or treating and I think she now thinks every neighbour will just hand over a big box of smarties if she simply knocks on their door. She wanted to visit the same homes Saturday and Sunday too. "More marties!!!" It's tough to grasp the concept of Halloween at 2 years of age, but it sure was fun for me to hit the couple of homes with her before toddler boredom set in and she wanted to go back to the house where Mommy and Grandma were camped out. I know there's going to be a point in the coming years where it won't be cool for her to be escorted around the neighbourhood, where she'll travel with her friends, then come home and guard her candy like a hawk from dear old Dad. Or she'll get dressed up not to go out for candy, but to some party. Not too soon I hope. In the meantime, I'm allowed the teeny Coffee Crisps and Aero Bars just as long as I don't touch her "marties!"
